Garden-Style Baby Shower in Historic Local Gem

We love to celebrate all seasons of life with flowers. And this July we had a wonderful opportunity to provide florals for a baby shower at the historic Bloodworth House in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, which now serves as The Claudia Foundation. We crafted the prettiest bud vases, tabletop meadow style centerpieces and a foam-free fireplace installation I’m still swooning over. Pretty pastels with bright pops of color felt fresh in the historic wood-clad English library.

I felt like the luckiest florist for having so much incredible locally grown flowers to create with. Cosmos, forget-me-nots, foxglove, garden roses, phlox, scabiosa to name just a few. The ingredients were dreamy beyond compare, thanks to the following flower growers.

Bub’s Bees and Blooms

Flowers in Clay

Green’s Garden Goods

Nourished Farms

Our signature bud vases and a meadow style centerpiece.

This fireplace with the stunning artwork was a real treat to design around. We utilized flower frogs, chicken wire and some shallow vases for a foam-free installation. All the foliage was local and so much of it came from our own backyard—besides the wisteria that was the perfect vine for movement and texture…thanks for that, Allison!
