Abby & Michael
Last October we piled into the car and headed east across the river to a hilltop bed and breakfast. The drive was damp and foggy, with moody gray clouds hovering on the horizon. By the time we turned onto the private lane of Historic Bell Hill, the sun began to shine for our first Clementine bride.
The sprawling main house was surrounded by barns, outbuildings and ancient trees. A breathtaking vista was the stage for the ceremony, with an antique iron arch framing the idyllic Illinois countryside. I could not have dreamt up a more fitting venue for Abby and her groom.
The scheme was natural, foraged, imperfection. Texture abounded, with marsala details in the way of dahlias. Native grasses, sedum, and celosia provided even more character.
